Why does a robot need a tablet to scan all the screens in front of it? Isnt AI all seeing, hearing, knowing? This was the featured image for Bryan Alexander’s AI, Academia, and the Future substack post on Culture responds to AI in summer 2025.

Bryan is a friend and super busy, but I cannot find a real meaning in what this image is trying to say (there is no attribution to here this image was extruded nor what the prompt was). I guess it symbolizes scanning— but all the screens are gibberish.

On this Substack I scan various domains where I see AI having an impact. I focus on technology, of course, but also scan government and politicseconomics, and education, this newsletter’s ultimate focus. Today’s theme is culture, which we last scanned for in January.

Where is culture in this image?
